The lake dropped another 4.25 inches last week. A bike ride to the meadow bridge and discussion with Steve, the Brickle Creek gate attendant, confirmed that the cause is low inflow from the surrounding higher elevations.
Brickle Creek flow is as low as I've ever seen it and much lower than usual flow for mid July, Steve reported that several of the lateral creeks feeding Brickle Creek are now dry and others are clearly below normal flows.
The good news is that the lake has not developed any new leaks. The bad news is that, with continued dry weather forecasted, we are looking at the lowest lake levels since the millpond repair.
Plan to attend the annual meeting on August 14 at Timberlake Senior High School. 9 AM sign in and 10 AM meeting. All director positions up for election or re election. I'd like to see at least two new board members -one with a legal background and one with formal training and substantial experience in ecology and conservation. If you are or know of a property owner in those catagories, please consider joining our board. Attend the Annual meeting, have your name placed in nomination and address the membership concerning your qualifications.
